Day Spa Packages
Tipping for two clients w/ multiple services at a day spa?
I’ll be treating my daughter and her best friend to several hrs at a day spa, as a special present for my daughter’s 16th birthday. Each of them will get the same spa package, which will include multiple services from different technicians. The gratuity may be included in the price of each package, but if I find that it isn’t, what’s the best way to tip for the two spa packages? I don’t want to show up to pick up the two girls, then try to figure out who did what w/ whom, and how much it would have cost separately, track each person down to individually tip them, etc. I was hoping I could add a (around 20%) tip to the total price for the two packages, when I pay the bill at the end of the girls’ spa date, and indicate that it can be distributed according to spa policy. Would this be appropriate?
That’s a very sweet birthday present. Great dad!
20% is the general rule of thumb.
Most spas have little envelopes near the reception area where you can put whatever tip you’d like in an envelope with the person’s name on the envelope.
Drop it in a box and you’re done.
